Letting Implant Prototypes Shine

Motif Neurotech partnered with Winnemac Labs to create a compact device to wirelessly power and control their bioelectronic implant prototype. With just four weeks before a major demo, Winnemac Labs designed custom circuitry, wireless power and communication protocols, and integrated these into a handheld device and mobile app.

The system was built for sensing flexibility

The circuit was miniaturized with built-in safety features, while the firmware enabled wireless communication and power management. The enclosure was designed for easy assembly and low-quantity production, and the iOS app used BLE to monitor and configure hardware during testing and demonstrations, ensuring flexibility for future development.
